About Hello Bub

Hello Bub turns one date, your due date, into a dated plan for a pregnancy in the Australian public system: every scan, antenatal visit, vaccine, Centrelink claim and Medicare form, what the baby is up to each week, and the first 60 days after the birth.

Why it exists

The information is all published somewhere. The antenatal schedule is in the Australian Pregnancy Care Guidelines, the vaccine windows are on the National Immunisation Program, Parental Leave Pay is on Services Australia and birth registration sits with your state registry. None of it is in one place, none of it is dated for you, and most of the sites that do pull it together are written for the United States. Hello Bub is the Australian version: the public-system schedule and the Australian money rules, in weeks and days the way your hospital counts them.

How it is built

  • Every figure, window and deadline on the site comes from one data file that cites its government source. The Sources page lists every page we rely on.
  • Each page shows the date it was last reviewed. Rules that change each July, such as Parental Leave Pay and its income limits, are updated when Services Australia publishes the new figures.
  • Windows are the typical ones for a low-risk pregnancy in a public hospital. Your midwife, GP or obstetrician sets your actual dates, and theirs win.
  • Queensland is the most complete at launch, because that is where Hello Bub started. The national schedule, the vaccines and the Centrelink rules are the same everywhere, and state-specific notes are marked.

What it is not

Hello Bub is a planning tool, not medical advice, and it does not replace your antenatal care. If something worries you, call your maternity unit any time, 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) in Queensland, Pregnancy, Birth and Baby on 1800 882 436, or 000 in an emergency.

Free, and what an account is for

Every calculator and page is free with no sign-up. A free account is only needed to save your plan, tick things off and pick it up on another phone. We do not sell your information; the Privacy page says exactly what is kept.

Who makes it

Hello Bub is made in Brisbane by a small team who wanted the public-system schedule in one place. Corrections and suggestions go to hello@hellobub.com.au, and we read every message.
